Access to the NIA Member Portal and Phone App

  1. Members can use https://networkinaction.com to Login to the Member Platform. Once logged in, use the Gear at the top right corner to use Change Privacy to set the Password to something of your choosing. Sometimes a partnership “shares” membership. In this case, the password for the named Member should be set to something both parties know. (Note, there are options on the same login page to Reset Password.) If you can’t remember your login ID, use the Forgot Username function or text 662-910-7999.
  2. After the password is changed, note the Home > NIA 101 navigations. This leads to a growing list of short, How-To Videos about how to use different benefits on the Member portal.
  3. On the portal navigation, use Home > Profile > Crack Your Code. Note which values are most important to you (1) to least important (4) and Save the rankings. This will tag your profile with your code so that fellow members can understand the values most important to you. You can do this on https://crackmycode.com/breakmycode and use your name, email, and phone to get a free personality report. Your family can do the same, and you all can have a great time reading each other’s personality reports.
  4. Use Home > Profile > Edit My Profile to edit how your profile appears to fellow members and to the outside world. The visibility of the changes can be dialed very public to very private using the icons on the right side of each field. Pro Tip – Using good key words and keeping this profile largely in sync with the information on your Google My Business and other social media profiles will help you and your business be more “Findable” on the web. Save any changes using the “Save” button at the bottom of the page. It is useful to log into the NIA portal from one browser and then navigate to Network in Action > Find a Group in a different browser (or your phone) to see how the profile looks to an outside viewer. You’ll want to edit this profile and those on all your accounts periodically to get an SEO bump.
  5. Finally, on your phone, download the NIA or Network in Action phone app. It is Blue in color, not Orange. If you are the only person using your phone app, feel free to use biometrics to make login faster. If you are sharing your access with a colleague, use the actual password so that both can use the phone app on separate phones. The NIA 101 videos will cover all the cool things you can do with the NIA Phone App.

Onboarding & Maximizing Your NIA Benefits

These are some suggestions as to how to make the most of your NIA Membership in a short amount of time. Though there are opportunities to continuously learn, there are key things to leverage as soon as possible. Mark your schedules for the event times above, particularly the Member meeting. Leverage as many of the optional items as you can.

Week 1 – Access the Portal and Have some One-to-One Meetings with Fellow Members

  1. Access the Member Portal and Phone App to update your profile and make it as great as possible (instructions above).
  2. Review the NIA 101 videos on Home > NIA 101. Be ready to cover any questions you have with your NIA leader.
  3. Set a time with your NIA LeaderSet an NIA Onboarding time with your NIA group leader. This time will be used to review the member benefits, pass some introductions, and make sure your access to RepMan software is set up. If in the Memphis area, this can be done in person. Plan to bring your laptop.

Week 2 – Make Your “My Minute” and Interview Videos

  1. See some of the NIA Introduction and Interview videos on the Network in Action YouTube channel. After getting familiar with how those videos are arranged, plan your own script, about 45 seconds to a minute for the My Minute/Introduction video and about 4-7 minutes for the Interview video. If there are any questions about your business that you want to answer, make a note of those questions. For both videos, practice speaking your parts in front of a mirror so the delivery is as natural and pleasant as possible.
  2. Set a time to make the videos with Ms. Linda. Make sure the time is on your calendar and be on time. Dress in the way you want to be seen on a video published to the world. When Ms. Linda finishes the videos, you will be able to save them to your NIA profile, your own social media, and to your YouTube as well. They will be your videos to do with what you like.
  3. Meet some more NIA members and begin to develop referral partnership relationships with them. Ask your NIA leader for some more introductions or reach out to them directly using the information on their profiles. In your first meetings, 45-55 minutes is probably appropriate to get to know each other well. In follow-up meetings, you can agree to cover good Power Referral Partner steps with each other in 30 minutes. All your fellow members (those of your own NIA leader), can be found through the group links found on these NIA Memphis/Virtual group pages. While fellow members should NOT expect that they will all become clients for each other, it is appropriate to become intentional referral partners to one another.

Week 3 – Leverage NIA Member Benefits and More One-to-One Meetings

  1. Keep Meeting Members, including NIA Members elsewhere – Use the NetworkinAction.com > Find A Group navigation (when not logged in) or the Home > Find a Member > Search (when logged in) to find members in groups outside of Cath’s Memphis/Virtual groups. Please respect that if that person’s group has someone in your profession, he or she will be sharing most of their referrals with that person. It is still good to meet people from other groups.
  2. Access Network in Action University – When on the NIA Member portal, navigate to Home > Member Benefits > Business Solutions. The Network in Action University allows you to create an account using the same email as your NIA account. If you plan to share this access with employees, teammates, colleagues, or clients, make the password generic enough to share. This tool allows you to take courses of business relevance at your pass. Many of them have videos, PDFs, or workbooks you can download. If you had to pay for this tool, it would be worth over $10,000.
  3. Use RepMan Software to Ask for Reviews – In Week 1, when setting a time to work with your NIA Leader, if at all possible, you will have made sure you can take Google Reviews and that the Google Review functionality was attached to your RepMan software. Now you can ask people to give you a review using the Phone App > Action/Blue+ button > Request a Review. Simply tell any client or person you have helped, “If you think I have provided good service to you today, would you mind giving me a review?” Pro Tip – When they do provide a review, periodically navigate to Google My Business and “respond” to the reviews. That helps the SEO of things.

Week 4 – Building the Findability for Yourself and Your Group

  1. Connect with Your Fellow NIA Members on Social Media – As you have One-to-one meetings with fellow members, connect and follow each other’s social media accounts. Maximize your networking when you intentionally build and use your social media connections to visit each other’s profiles and to like/comment/share each other’s posts. If a fellow member is promoting an event, share it. By lifting each other up on social media, you help each other become more visible and that helps everyone’s SEO and findability.
  2. Who do your fellow members need to meet? If, in getting to know some of the members, you can think of people who would be good additions to the group, introduce them to your NIA leader. If you introduce good people into the group, and they join, you get credit for that against the cost of your own membership. Use the NIA App Action button to Refer a Member or Make a Connection. Either way, it logs the fact that you introduced someone to a fellow member into the NIA metrics. They should be doing the same with you.
  3. Have a Follow-Up with Your NIA LeaderBook a 30-minute monthly meeting with your NIA leader. Provide feedback, ask questions, and brainstorm on how to get more out of the membership. Do you have an educational topic you would like to present to share value to others while also bringing attention to your business? Work out how to get that scheduled to maximize exposure to your business. You are off to a great start. Keep up the incredible work, and you will gain some wonderful referral partners and clients as a result!
